Entrepreneuring Youth Ignite Possibilities

Please accept this article as your invitation to the annual Entrepreneuring Youth “Ignite Possibilities” event… it’s FREE so bring a few friends! You will be astounded by the creativity and professionalism of the area’s brightest young business owners.

At the event, which is being held from 4 to 7 p.m., Thursday, June 6, at the Rivers Club, Downtown, you will get to meet local middle school and high school-aged entrepreneurs as they proudly showcase their businesses to area leaders and business people.

“The Ignite Possibilities event serves as a celebration of youthful entrepreneurship and the positive life lessons it fosters,” said E Youth President Jerry Cozewith. “Each year our attendance grows, as more adults learn about the initiative and spirit of self-motivation being cultivated among our young people.”

At the event, several of the young business owners will be awarded seed capital to launch or grow their business. One will actually earn a trip to a national competition New York City later this year.

Up until June, the students will have worked their way through a business plan competition, sponsored by the Tippins Foundation, which features a series of business plan presentation elimination rounds. It showcases the middle school and high school students as they demonstrate their business ideas and talents.

“Constructive competition is an integral component of E Youth’s innovative programs,” explained Cozewith. “The competitions provide entrepreneurship students a unique opportunity to hone their marketing, presentation and communication skills, network with local business leaders who serve as competition judges and coaches, and compete for seed capital grants to support their business or academic goals.”

E Youth sponsors the GW Tippins 1st place finisher to be enter a national competition conducted by the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) each October in New York City. Last year, that distinction went to brothers Jesse and Josiah Council, ages 14 & 15, co-Founders of J&J’s Soothing Cream, who finished as national runners up, earning $5,000 to invest in their education and their business growth.

Remember, the event is free. You will be “ignited” by the positive attitudes of these students… we guarantee it! E Youth empowers young people to create. To register to attend the Ignite Possibilities event, visit http://www.showclix.com/event/IgnitePossibilities2013
