Springbreak 2010, Oakland is a Ghost Town

No traffic and no students.

Spring break 2010. Oakland is a ghost town. No traffic and no students make this the perfect time to visit Oakland… the only catch is that there’s nothing to do once you get there (especially after 5pm, almost everything’s closed by then). During spring break, some shops even close for the entire weekend – like Crazy Mocha. This is a perfect example of why taxing students was a dumb idea.

If you do decide to venture into Oakland (or, if you’re stuck there because you didn’t go anywhere for spring break), we recommend checking out:

  • Oishii Bento (map) – Sushi and Korean/Japanese style bento dishes
  • Sweet Berry (map) – All natural frozen yogurt with fruity toppings
  • Caribou Coffee (map) – They have free wi-fi and will stay open until 10pm during spring break

What else are Pitt and CMU students doing in Pittsburgh this weekend for spring break?
