During a short walk through East Liberty there were a few sights worth sharing. First is the bumper bike! Have you ever seen that dude who rides around on a bicycle with a car bumper attached? Well, there it is chained up to that sign post. For all the bikers out there in the Burgh who are tired of inconsiderate Pittsburgh four-wheelers, this could be a great way to fight back!

Carnegie Library East Liberty

The Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh announced in early October that they will have to close 5 (of 19) branches due to a budget deficit of $1.2 million. Last week, the construction at the East Liberty branch was brought to our attention.  Tearing down the libraries so soon? No, the East Liberty branch is not closing. As it turns out, the libraries that are scheduled to close are: Lawrenceville, West End, Beechview, Hazelwood, and the Knoxville and Carrick branches will be merged.
