As we posted earlier, Tom Cruise and the One Shot movie crew is still in Pittsburgh. They were spotted working in Oakland at the intersection of Centre Ave. and N. Craig St. We’re still not sure if they were filming indoors or outside. Check out the pics of Cruise’s trailer below. It looks better than half of the houses in Pittsburgh!

Tom Cruise filming One Shot movie in Oakland

Tom Cruise is still in Pittsburgh and today the One Shot crew is going to film a scene in Oakland. Yellow base camp signs were posted all around Oakland yesterday and the Haddad’s trucks started showing up today. There are “CREW” signs in the parking lot behind the old Giant Eagle. The traffic at the intersection of Centre Ave. and N. Craig St. is already unbearable, but now Hollywood is taking up both sides of the road with Haddad’s trucks.

It’s finally here! We had so much fun covering The Dark Knight Rises filming in Pittsburgh over the summer. Lots of priceless memories and star stalking. And we cannot forget the traffic detours, early mornings, rainy days, snow in August, trying to get pics of Batman delivered to you guys before TMZ and other media conglomerates… but this video clip made it all worth it!

The city looks amazing! And don’t let them say Hollywood made Pittsburgh look beautiful – it was the other way around. By the way, check out Hines Ward at 01:27!

Help fund "First Kiss" through Kickstarter!

Next Wednesday (Nov 9th) at 7pm, in the Regent Square Theater, Steeltown Entertainment is hosting its Kick-Off Event of the Steeltown Film Factory, a nationally recognized screenwriting competition that awards up to $30,000 to the winning screenplay to be produced in Pittsburgh. The event will play host to Hollywood industry professionals, as well as screen the products of previous years’ competition winners.

About a year ago, I wrote a short, 12-page screenplay and submitted it to the Film Factory competition. The screenplay, “First Kiss”, follows the story of Adam Schoenberger, a fourteen year old boy who finds out a pretty girl wants to kiss him at his best friend’s Spin the Bottle party. My script finished as one of the three finalists of the 2011 competition, and I had the incredible experience of pitching to a panel of industry professionals in every round of the Film Factory competition.

So, if you know someone with all four fingers missing on their left hand but with the thumb still in tact, tell them to respond to the ad as soon as possible since there will probably be a ton of people wanting the gig. WTF? Isn’t that why Hollywood has makeup and special effects specialists?
