Boycott the Pittsburgh Pirates group on Facebook

Accept or decline the invitation to boycott the Buccos?

Boring Pittsburgh was invited to a Facebook group called “Boycott the Pittsburgh Pirates“. We thought it was a joke at first – or an attempt at revenge by the fired Pierogie mascot… but after reading the wall posts, it was clear that these were some pissed off fans. While the boycott doesn’t appear to be a successful one yet, they’re doing their best to get the point across…

The level of disappointment with the Pirates has reached a new high. Why do they keep doing this year after stinking year? It’s embarrassing. -Joe

It’s sad when the only exciting part about going to a ball game is the city skyline and a race between men posing as pierogis. Come on, you know the feeling… a friend had a change in plans so he gave you his Pirates tickets. You go to work and tell everyone at the water cooler: “that’s right, guys, I’m goin’ to the game tonight”.You keep an eye on the weather through the big window across the room from your cubicle. You take off from work a few minutes early, and you get away with it.. because you have “tickets to the game”.

The Pittsburgh Pirates scored their biggest loss in the team’s history! In other words, out of 124 years of losses, today was their worst. They broke their own record – and they did it on home grass to make matters worse. They haven’t lost this bad since being whooped by the Cincinnati Reds back in 1955. The Brewers made them rethink whether they should’ve chosen another sport!

Russell Crowe is in town filming his next movie called “The Next Three Days” (set for release in 2011). He’s been known to ride his bike to the set every day and chill out with Pittsburghers at local bars and enjoy live music. But, the coolest news about Mr. Crowe so far is that he is apparently a Pirates fan! @mandajayne017 took an awesome pic of the man in his Pirates jacket!
