It’s hard to believe it’s already been 15 years since the very first Art All Night event in Pittsburgh! This weekend, head over to Lawrenceville for 24 hours (actually 22 hours) of local art and music. This year’s location will welcome over 10,000 visitors to the 50,000 sq ft Willow Street Development (40th and Willow St. in Larryville) and the cost of entry is $0.00.
Art All Night is a vast display of artwork with over 1,200 pieces to explore. Each artist is allowed to submit their single best piece of work about anything. ANYTHING. This is a true art show with absolutely no boundaries. No Fees, No Jury, No Censorship. Attend with an open mind or stay home being bored.
Besides the fact that this event is totally free for show participants and art lovers alike, another interesting attraction is that you get to see work from first-timers alongside well-known artists – in no order of importance! All creators are equal at Art All Night.
15 years of “grassroots tradition” have been spearheaded by an all-volunteer committee and hundreds of helping hands that make the show possible each time. Luckily, some of those volunteers also happen to be entertainers and artists. So, in addition to live music and various performances throughout the event this weekend, there will also be creative individuals doing what they do best all night long (Cartooning All Night)… witness raw talent right before your very eyes as Pittsburghers make art.
