I can think of no more powerful way to demonstrate the impact of giving than through this story. 

We all give back, in many ways and as best we can.  But we often forget that behind that charitable contribution are a name and a face.  A person, just like Ashley, who is the personification of your gift.  Ashley is an inspirational example of one life, among tens of thousands in our community, touched by the generosity of Pittsburghers and the united efforts of efficient, local agencies.

From an abusive childhood where she never felt safe or loved in her own home, Ashley's hope for a better life was renewed at 3 Rivers Youth, a United Way Impact Fund agency that healed her wounds and addressed the root cause of her behavioral issues. The experience changed her and, in response, she soared to success. Ashley is now a proud senior in college graduating with dual degrees, endeavors to be a motivational speaker and is writing her autobiography to help inspire other at-risk youth.
