Arch Bridge Transformer at Pittsburgh Airport

It’s been almost 2 years since Arch the Bridge Transformer suddenly went missing from his Downtown corner where Seventh St. meets Fort Duquesne Blvd. After he was taken apart and moved to the McKay Lodge Conservation Laboratory in Ohio, Pittsburgh was promised that he would return upon restoration. Time passed and many of us never expected to see our beloved black-and-gold robot again.

Then out of the blue, Boring Pittsburgh received a message from Arch himself revealing his whereabouts:

Arch is now at PIT (Pittsburgh International Airport)! Check out his Facebook page for photos of the installation, and stop by for a visit the next time you travel. Or anytime, located on landside so you do not need a ticket to visit.

This is wonderful news. Everyone loved seeing Arch as they crossed the bridge from PNC Park, but he’ll get lots more attention at the airport! It’s a perfect location for him. Welcome back, Arch!
