Batman Filming: Downtown Traffic is Gonna Be Hell
Batman the Dark Knight Rises has finished up filming in Oakland around CMU and Pitt (at least the outdoor stuff), and now they have made way into Downtown Pittsburgh. They are supposed to have snow, chase scenes, and explosions! As if traffic isn’t bad enough getting into, around, and out of the city. Check out the current list of road closures…

Filming is from Tuesday, August 9 – Thursday, August 21
The most important traffic alerts so far aka avoid these streets:
- Oliver Avenue from Wood Street to Grant Street will be closed from 8pm on Tuesday, August 9th through 5am on Thursday, August 11th.
- Smithfield Street from Fifth Avenue to Sixth Avenue will be closed from 8pm on Tuesday, August 9th through 5am on Thursday, August 11th.
- The north side curb lane of Fifth Avenue from Smithfield to Liberty Avenue will be closed from 6pm on Tuesday, August 9th through 5am on Thursday, August 11th.
- There will be intermittent traffic control on Grant Street, William Penn Place and Wood Street.
