The line to get into the Wiz Khalifa concert ran its course via a narrow path between the river and the amphitheater. The ground was littered with everything from a whole pizza, Subway sandwiches, crushed pretzels, bottles, broken glass, you name it. A disgusting mess left by disgusting pigs with no regard for anything or anyone. A sign to turn back before it was too late.
It was a nightmare. Like a lawless fenced in green-zone where teenagers were getting drunk, puking, passing out, and smoking weed. Lot’s of weed. If you are applying for a new job this week after going to the concert on Saturday, you better pray they don’t drug test you. “Hey what did you expect from a Wiz Khalifa concert?” That’s not the point.
It was hot and humid. Everyone was dripping sweat and bumping into each other. Before the show even started, at least 4 people vomited, 2 fights broke out, 2 people fainted (either from the heat, or smoking some of that out-of-town kush).
The water was $4/bottle, and they don’t let you keep the cap. There’s probably a good explanation for this, but gross nonetheless. They only serve plastic bottles, which is nice since they were randomly being launched into the air at people.
When the concert was over, a large group formed near the exit and they wouldn’t let anyone leave for about 10 minutes. Thankfully there wasn’t a stampede caused by some of the kids that were aggressively trying to ram their way through the crowd. When everyone finally dispersed, the place looked like a scene from Slumdog Millionaire. Garbage cans were unused, while the ground was trashed. Does the Trib Total Media Amphitheater recycle all those bottles? Doubtful.
The only good thing about the place is the view.
Heat + Humidity + Waiting in line + Standing during the concert + Sweating + Drugs + Alcohol + Testosterone + Tough-guy-syndrome + Adolescent insecurity = 5 hrs of your precious life that you will never get back

I can answer one question; they keep the cap because uncapped bottles of water don’t do much damage when you throw one at someone. *Capped* bottles of water can hurt people – including security and the people on stage – quite a bit.

I wuz there I know wut you mean. I couldn;t see shit. Not worth $50 or $25 or free. I could hear the music in the comfort of my home sitting in the ac.
No offense, but it seems like the problem is not the venue but the people who attended. Aren’t they the ones who didnt use the trash cans and puked and did the damage and made the mess? Although I do see where you definitely indicate the employees or management or whoever could have run things way better.
You are absolutely right, the people there were a major contributing factor. The venue is bad and the concertgoers made it even worse. It’s not a place I would want to return to, even to watch my favorite bands.
