Peaceful Gathering of Hands Pittsburgh

A Peaceful Gathering of Hands went down in Schenley Park. Hopefully they prayed to the Rain Gods for better weather!

A free collaborative event to unite diverse groups and individuals who are working for a peaceful and healthy Pittsburgh and planet.

Please bring food, instruments, art, and a vision for a peaceful Pittsburgh.

From noon to 5, we will form a circle of hands every hour on the hour.

Our intention is to unite a diverse range of groups and people from
all over the city who share a vision for peace. During this free and
collaborative event, we’ll all stand in a circle holding hands every
hour on the hour, and we will truly realize how many people are
working for a more healthy, sustainable, peaceful Pittsburgh. During
the time between each circle we have the golden opportunity to
network, to meet others in service toward these common goals and to
share fun, food and play. We’re asking each group to paint a banner –
or any signage they choose – demonstrating how they are creating a
more peaceful Pittsburgh. Participants can bring food, instruments,
art, and information they wish to share, as well as their vision for a
better life.

This happens every year. Here’s how it looked in 2011:
