I do like this theater a lot. But one time, I went with a friend and there was this punk at the ticket window. After spending about 15 minutes trying to get a parking spot and literally running to the theater (I hate missing the previews) we forgot they only take cash. So after luckily scrounging up the cash to pay the guy, we realized we were about .70 cents short! This snot-nosed punk told us to use the ATM the have sitting next to the ticket booth. You know the kind of ATM right? The kind that charges you at least $2.50 to use it (and sometimes your own bank charges you too!). My friend told the guy we would run to get the missing change as soon as the movie was over, but since the movie was starting and the amount due was less than the ATM fee, please just let us go in! Punk said “no, I won’t be here after the movie”. WTF? So we left and didn’t see the movie. For a measly 70 cents, that damn place lost $15 and two moviegoers that used to go there at least once a week. That’s bad business. This is exactly why they probably won’t be open in another 2 years. Sucks but it’s harsh reality of doing business in the new millennium.
Unlike other corporate movie theaters, Manor Theater sometimes plays foreign and independent movies. People who go to this theater usually do not talk during a movie. The only thing that I don’t like about this place is they only take cash.
