The Dark Knight himself Christian Bale recently returned to the Burgh (currently in Braddock, PA – the fire hall to be exact) for the filming of Out of the Furnace. The whole Batman thing was Anne Hathaway’s second big trip to Pittsburgh. Boring Pittsburgh captured loads of pics and videos from the making of this movie, but Morgan Freeman was nowhere in sight. If you catch a Hollywood celebrity on film, send it to us and we’ll post it here for everyone to gawk at.

It’s finally here! We had so much fun covering The Dark Knight Rises filming in Pittsburgh over the summer. Lots of priceless memories and star stalking. And we cannot forget the traffic detours, early mornings, rainy days, snow in August, trying to get pics of Batman delivered to you guys before TMZ and other media conglomerates… but this video clip made it all worth it!

The city looks amazing! And don’t let them say Hollywood made Pittsburgh look beautiful – it was the other way around. By the way, check out Hines Ward at 01:27!

Like Batman returning to the world of Bruce Wayne, Pittsburgh has removed the Gotham City mask and life is back to normal. City roads have been reopened, the fake snow has been carried to the landfills, and Haddad’s trucks are back at the base. In other words, the Burgh is back to being boring for the time being.

Dear Mr. Christopher Nolan, thank you for making this the most exciting summer in Pittsburgh and for not being a jagoff about our incessant urge to share spy shots with Batman fans around the world.

Batman the Dark Knight Rises has finished up filming in Oakland around CMU and Pitt (at least the outdoor stuff), and now they have made way into Downtown Pittsburgh. They are supposed to have snow, chase scenes, and explosions! As if traffic isn’t bad enough getting into, around, and out of the city. Check out the current list of road closures…
