Katherine Heigl filming "One for the Money" in Shadyside
We’d like to send a shoutout to Barbara Vancheri for mentioning BPGH in the Post Gazette yesterday. She was right on the money about all of the “One for the Money” movie-making tidbits. Check out the Film Notes article titled ‘One for the Money’ continues filming…
This is what happens when your city becomes a mini-Hollywood hub.
Earlier this week, a girl posted on boringpittsburgh.com that Taylor Lautner would be shooting close to Federal Street on the North Side. But another poster corrected her — the movie filming near the old Garden Theater is Katherine Heigl’s “One for the Money” and not “Abduction.”
The craziness continues (and will continue until the end of August). This video was put together by two local college girls on a mission to find Taylor Lautner in Pittsburgh.
We drove throughout the entire city of Pittsburgh one weekend searching for Taylor Lautner’s filming location, only to be unsuccessful. But because of this failure, we created this Ke$ha parody about our quest for Taylor. Enjoy!
Even if you don’t care about the dude, there are a lot of Pittsburgh mentions throughout the song. If you don’t care about Pittsburgh or the dude, then don’t even bother clicking – unless of course you simply want to see two girls running around the Burgh having a good time… then you can mute it and just watch. We kid the girls! The lyrics and video are creative attempts to get Mr. Lautner’s attention – hopefully it works out for them! Continue Reading >>
The Garden Theater in North Side is taken back in time
Where was Taylor Lautner filming this week? Not in the North Side of Pittsburgh like everyone suspected. Hollywood was indeed in that part of the Burgh, but filming One for the Money with Katherine Heigl. Guest contributor, Aidinslevel, sent in the following pictures from her trip to the movie set.
As you can see from the pics, they transformed the Garden Theater on W North Ave into an x-rated porn theater… which is ironic, since that’s exactly what that it used to be. This story by Jessica Thurston has all the details on that spicy time in the theater’s existence. Continue Reading >>
Haddad's and ABX trucks on Osage Road for Abduction
If you haven’t heard, Taylor Lautner is stationed in Pittsburgh for a bit. We took a trip up to Mount Lebanon over the weekend to check out the Abduction filming action up on Osage Road. They don’t shoot on the weekends, so the place was on the quiet side.
Despite rumors that Lautner was staying in a house there, only four or five small groups of girls were strolling around, trying their best to be as inconspicuous as possible. As it turns out, the Twilight superstar is probably staying in a hotel and not living anywhere near Virginia Manor. We were told that the house they were filming in (on Osage Road) supposedly belongs to the CEO of American Eagle Outfitters. Continue Reading >>
Taylor Lautner with fan @woahxcorri at Hamton High School in Pittsburgh Filming Abduction!
Have you seen the yellow ABX Productions signs around town? There’s a star in town. That’s right Twilight fanatics, Taylor Lautner, otherwise known as Jacob Black, is on location in Pittsburgh for the next two months. Filming starts today (July 12th) through September 22, 2010.
During the first day of shooting, Taylor and the film crew were working at Hampton High School in Allison Park (map). According to their website, the entire school is closed Monday, July 12 and Tuesday, July 13. Hampton High must be pretty excited because the name of the school, the mascot, even their team fight song will all be included in the film. Out of the hundreds of people who waited all morning and afternoon to get a glimpse of the werewolf, Corri was the lucky one to have the stud’s face pressed up against hers for the lovely snapshot above.
woahxcorri – Taylor Lautner filming a movie. On a motorcycle. 30 feet in front of me. He is FINE AS HELL. And 10x cuter in real life
Russell Crowe on the left in a Pittsburgh sports shirt, flickred by Divinehammer42
Russell Crowe is still in Pittsburgh filming “The Next Three Days“. Last week, Crowe must have taken a break from filming so he could play Santa Clause for the holidays. He gave the gift of warmth by handing someone a winter coat right off his back. The homeless fan, known as “Radio Man”, rode his bike all the way from New York just so he could hang out near the movie set. Russell Crowe heard about the guy and generously gifted him a puffy gray down jacket with a fur hood. Continue Reading >>
