At noon yesterday televisions, laptops, and radios across Steeler Nation were tuned in to the Steelers South Side facilities where Hines Ward was to address the media for the first time since his Feb. 29th release from the Steelers. Once news broke out that there was to be a press conference, it was a fairly easy conclusion as to what the press conference would be. Nothing could have prepared us for what we actually did witness. Hines came to speak to grant us one last request, that he would never put another jersey on. Hines cried, we cried, and at the end of it, we all felt a little more proud to be a part of Steeler Nation.

Hines Ward Retires a Steeler (Tribute Songs)
Thank you Hines Ward! Not only for your effort on the field, and not only for retiring as a Pittsburgh Steeler, but most of all, thank you for that smile… and the good feelings. The tribute song that Star 100.7 FM put together says it all.

Steelers Hangover Rears Its Ugly Head Again
Ok, so let’s break it down to the most popular things said by Steeler fans this morning:
- Bruce Arians should be fired
- Ike Taylor got beat all year long
- Ben shouldn’t have played the last 3 games of the season
- Dick LeBeau should retire
- Tomlin is a horrible coach
- The refs are against us
Inevitably we are going to want to break down the game as if we are all part of the coaching staff and figure out just what the crap went wrong yesterday in Denver. We can’t help it. We’re yinzers. We were born and bred to question coaching decisions, scream at the ref’s calls, and criticize the players. It’s a tough thing to deal with every year when the Steelers season is over. It will always happen, and unfortunately it doesn’t always come with a victory parade.
“Deck the Broncos, They’re Just Yonkos” Song by Myron Cope (video)
At 4:30 PM on Sunday, January 8, 2012, the Steelers will play against the Broncos at Mile High Stadium in Denver. 27 years ago, on December 30th, Pittsburgh had a similar AFC Divisional Playoff game on the schedule, and the legendary Myron Cope wrote a song about it called “Deck the Broncos, They’re Just Yonkos” (we won that game). Check out Myron’s performance in the video above and our pathetic attempt at deciphering the lyrics below:

Lights Out for the 49ers at Candlestick Park in San Francisco

Steelers/49ers Lights out at Candlestick Park in San Francisco 12-19-11
No wonder it’s called Candlestick Park… you need candlesticks prepared in case the lights go out in San Francisco! This was the second power outage at the stadium since the game began. How are the guys supposed to stay focused in such a dysfunctional environment?
The last time the power went out during a game at that stadium was during an earthquake in 1989. Is this happening because the 49ers are too scared to play the Steelers fair and square? WTF San Fran!?
Go Steelers! Heinz Field is #1!
