Carnegie Museum will offer free admission after 3:30pm on Thursday, May 19, 2011
On Thursday, May 19, the Carnegie Museum of Art and the Carnegie Museum of Natural History will offer free entrance after 3:30pm.
It’s something to do with Association of Art Museum Directors’ Art Museum Day (museums think long names makes them sound smarter than libraries). Coincidentally, International Museum Day is on May 18. Why didn’t the CMA and CMNH celebrate this glorious museum holiday on the same day as everyone else in the world is beyond us, but we’ll take “free” any day of the week!
This is a great gesture, but they really should offer free days once a week or once a month at least (if they don’t already). Andrew Carnegie would have wanted that!
The theme of these year’s Museum Day is supposed to be “museum and memory.”
It’s free to get in but how much to park?
Parking in the museum lot is $5 after 3:30pm
I have ADD and didn’t read the paragraph above, when is it again?
Thursday, May 19, 2011 AFTER 3:30pm – so don’t try going at 3pm and expect to get in for free
