You can watch the game highlights in the TV above but as you will see, there wasn’t much to highlight about this game. The Vancouver Canucks scored six times – that’s 3 goals for each of our 2. Are you blaming the loss on our goalie? John Curry replaced Marc-Andre Fleury last night due to a fractured left ring finger. And backup Brent Johnson couldn’t play due to an injury of his own. The Pens obviously didn’t let the last few losses get them down. They came back strong last night and scored four goals against the Maple Leafs. If you watch the TV above, you’ll see that the game was strange. The score was tied at 1 and with about 14 minutes on the clock in the second period, Sergei Gonchar scored a power-play shot – but nobody noticed. Then, about 15 seconds later, Gonchar got caught tripping Alexei Ponikarovsky. This prompted the officials to review the action . That’s when they noticed that Gonchar actually got a goal! If it weren’t for the tripping call, the Pens wouldn’t have received credit for scoring. Instead of awarding the Leafs a penalty shot, Gonchar got stuck with a hooking penalty that landed him in the box.
