Carnegie Mellon International Film Festival - Faces of Others - March 22 - April 15
Explore the world of international film at the 2012 Carnegie Mellon University’s International Film Festival: Faces of Others! Beginning on March 22 with a special Opening Night event at the Melwood Screening Room at 7pm, the “12 day, 3 long-weekends” festival ends on April 15.
Each weekend hosts films that challenge the audience to contemplate the perspectives of others from cultures across the globe, including: Dutch, Polish, Latin American, French, Finnish, Germanic, Norwegian, African, Middle Eastern, Romanian, Hungarian, Austrian, Greek, Russian, and Chinese. For example, in a thrilling Opening Night documentary, El Sicario, Room 164, the audience is asked to enter the mind of a university-educated contract killer in hiding as he describes, through a masked face, the links between the Mexican drug mafia and corrupt policemen and politicians.

Matt Damon coming to Pittsburgh to film "Promised Land"
Matt Damon will be in Pittsburgh to begin filming a movie called “Promised Land” in April.
Still no word as to whether or not Pittsburgh will play itself. A brief synopsis on IMDB says the flick is about a salesman that experiences life-changing events after arriving in a small town. Sounds like Love and Other Drugs meets Abduction.

As we posted earlier, Tom Cruise and the One Shot movie crew is still in Pittsburgh. They were spotted working in Oakland at the intersection of Centre Ave. and N. Craig St. We’re still not sure if they were filming indoors or outside. Check out the pics of Cruise’s trailer below. It looks better than half of the houses in Pittsburgh!

Taylor Lautner and Pittsburgh: New 'Abduction' Poster!
Check out the Burgh sitting pretty behind Taylor Lautner in the latest version of the “Abduction” movie poster.
It’s safe to assume that the designers read Boring Pittsburgh. Notice how Taylor’s leg is positioned in a way that blocks out the four ugly letters on the Steel Building? Awesome! Let’s hope they maintained that style throughout the entire film. The gorgeous shots of Pittsburgh in the Next Three Days are going to be tough to beat, but we have high hopes for Abduction after the scenes we saw of Lautner speeding across the bridge on a crotch rocket.
PPG Place is clearly the superstar of this picture.
