There will be a bunch of cool stuff to do this weekend at the PopUp Pittsburgh event in the Hilltop. Wait a minute… you mean the Hill District? NO, the Hilltop! All jokes aside, many Pittsburghers never heard of such a place in the city they call home. The Hilltop is a part of town that is comprised of ten neighborhoods in Pittsburgh: Allentown, Arlington, Arlington Heights, Beltzhoover, Bon Air, Carrick, Knoxville, Mt. Oliver Borough, Mount Oliver City, and St. Clair. PopUp Pittsburgh hopes to spread awareness and “promote an appreciation of the Hilltop community’s current assets and potential, and encourages people from outside the community to experience the richness of the Hilltop’s ten unique neighborhoods.” In other words.. it’s free!
In addition to all the other PopUp Pittsburgh events, the I Made It! Market will be held at the Hilltop United Methodist Church (map). Shop at over 20 crafty vendors between 1pm – 5pm. There will also be:
- Farmer’s market
- Climbing wall
- Wiffle ball contest
- Putt-putt challenge
- Street hockey
- Local food stands
- A bake-off
- Pittsburgh art show
- Tours of the historic St. John Vianney Church
- Face painting
- Special appearances
- Even live music!
